Window Decal Install Instructions

I have never stuck anything to my car other than window tint so this was a first. If I am going to stick something on my car I want it to look professional and never come off until I want it to. So, I checked out a few decal/sticker application videos on YouTube, as well as used my experience from window tinting to come up with these instructions. Hope it works out well for you.

Tools Needed:

The sticker/decal Straight edge razor
Small squeegee Glass cleaner without ammonia
Tape to hold the sticker in place Lint free cloth, like a micro fiber towel

Instructions: Read each step in it's entirety before doing the procedure. It will help you avoid breaking parts, harming yourself, etc.

NOTE: You must have a very clean surface. I recommend applying the decal on glass.

  1. Wet the glass and scrape the surface with the razor.
  2. Clean the glass with the glass cleaner and dry it. Remember, DO NOT use cleaner with ammonia in it, it leaves a film. You can also clean the glass with alcohol.
  3. Take a small piece of tape and put it on the top edge of the decal overlay and put it in place on the glass.
  4. Fold the decal up so that the tape is used as a hinge and slowly peal off the letter backing, on an angle.
  5. Fold the decal down on the glass surface so that the letters contact the glass.
  6. Using the squeegee, work the decal on to the glass surface so they stick.
  7. Once you think the decal is on the glass firmly, peal off the decal overlay.
NOTE: Be careful that the decal does not lift off of the glass and stick to the overlay. If this does start to happen, use the squeegee and re-apply it.
  8. Once the overlay and tape has been removed, look closely at the decal to make sure you do not have any bubbles under it. If so, you the razor to cut the bubble and press the decal to the glass.
  9. You are done.

CARE: Remember not to use abrasive products to clean the area of the window that has the decal or it may come loose or off.
